====== [IVALab Tutorial] Getting Started With Dynamixel Motors ====== --------------------------------------------- Many IVALab robots are constructed using Dynamixel motors and compatible products (eg. connecting frames), manufactured and sold by [[http://www.robotis.us/ | Robotis]]. The Dynamixel line of motors sits somewhere between cheaper hobbyist servos and higher-end industrial solutions. They come equipped with several convenient features (eg. encoder position sensing, temperature/load sensing, over-voltage protection, serial communication, etc.). ===== Walk-Throughs ===== A stream-lined hardware configuration and API have been set-up to operate the motors: - [[dynamixel:hardware | Hardware Setup ]] - [[dynamixel:sw_prelim | Matlab Interface ]] - [[dynamixel:ros | ROS Integration (Python) ]] ===== Additional Resources ===== Tools: - [[ https://emanual.robotis.com/docs/en/software/dynamixel/dynamixel_wizard2/ | Dynamixel Wizard 2.0 (GUI-based motor control/diagnosis) ]] - [[ http://emanual.robotis.com/docs/en/software/dynamixel/dynamixel_workbench/ | Dynamixel Workbench ]] References: - [[ http://emanual.robotis.com/ | E-Manual ]] - [[ http://en.robotis.com/service/compatibility_table.php?cate=dx | Compatibility Chart ]] - [[ http://en.robotis.com/service/selection_guide.php | Motor Selection Guide ]] Useful [[ http://en.robotis.com/service/downloadcenter.php | Downloads ]]: - [[ http://en.robotis.com/service/downloadpage.php?ca_id=70 | Mechanical Drawings/Models ]] - [[ http://en.robotis.com/service/downloadpage.php?ca_id=30 | Dynamixel SDK ]] ([[ https://github.com/ROBOTIS-GIT/DynamixelSDK | Git ]]) --------- ;#; [[:start | Main ]] ;#;
